What educators are saying

I enjoy how easy this resource is to check. My students were engaged and working collaboratively. I used the multi-step in class, but the other levels to review with some that needed a little extra help with solving equations. It provided a great way to differentiate.
I love how I can use this activity on paper or digitally. The students love to work with a partner as they are working through this activity.

    Description

Students work in partners to solve one step, two step and multi-step equations in these collaborative "Around the Clock" activities. For each activity, each partner gets a clock with 12 unique problems. Each partner's clock problems are different but the answers are the same, encouraging collaboration and teamwork. If one student gets stuck, the other can help. If student answers differ, they work together to figure out the correct answer before moving on to the next problem.

There are 3 partner scavenger hunts for solving equations in this bundle. Each activity includes 24 unique problems (12 for each partner), optional student answer sheets and answer keys.

How the partner scavenger hunts work:

For each activity, students paste their START slip at 12 o'clock, solve its problem and find the answer on the top of another slip. They then paste this next slip at 1 o'clock and solve its problem. Each answer students find will lead to the next problem to solve.

Students complete all 12 problems until they get back to 12 o'clock. If all problems have been solved correctly, the answer from the problem at 11 o'clock will be at the top of their START slip.

The activities are self-checking, providing students with instant feedback. Each activity includes a printable version, a drag-and-drop digital version in GOOGLE Slides, student answer sheets and an answer key.

*These activities can also be given to individual students to complete. To use it this way, give each student one of the clocks. The activity is still self-checking. For the GOOGLE Slides version, make a copy of the activity and delete the second clock before sending to students.
