Description
A long-term resource for inspiring sight-singing in your choir.
There are three levels of Solfege Wars:
Beginner: The key is identified for singers. Emphasis is placed on recognizing stepwise motion, skips, and leaps.
Intermediate: Students must identify all 12 major key signatures. Emphasis is placed on understanding sharps and flats and finding “Do”.
Advanced: Students must identify minor key signatures and accidentals within major/minor keys. Emphasis is placed on major/minor relationships and altered tones.
Beginner level is recommended for ensembles with a large number of “non-readers”.
Use the practice slides as a daily warmup and review. Allow students to test individual levels as they become ready. A tracking sheet and answer keys are provided for your convenience.
