Can your team build a working model of a solar eclipse?

Solar Eclipse Model Challenge

Materials Needed: (per team)

- 1 flashlight

- 2 round items (these can be made using air dry clay, or you can use things like a ping pong ball and a small rubber ball)

- bamboo skewers (if you use air dry clay)

STEM Challenges are a way to get your kids thinking and building at the same time! These challenges use minimal materials and can be used as a way to improve your students’ communication and building skills in individual and team challenges. There are really fun, but challenging projects. The challenge for this one is to make a working model of a solar eclipse. It is always fun to bring a connection of unusual topics and STEM engineering challenges inside the classroom! The kids can learn a lot about engineering through these hands-on learning and experiences!
