We worked on this activity for two days, starting the day of the eclipse and finishing the day after. The students really enjoyed finding songs but had difficulty explaining why they chose them. The biggest struggle the students had was defining an idiom in their own words.
Loved it! I was unable to be in class due to a sick kids for the exclipse day, so I gave this to my kids and the responses have been fun!

Description

Experience the 2024 total solar eclipse with your students with these three fun activities. They are offered in both a printable PDF version and Google Drive™ (Google Slides™) version. The Google version can be shared online with your students and they can fill in their responses online; perfect for a paperless school.

The activities include a compiling information and responses for a 2044 time capsule, create a solar eclipse play list, and an extensive Solar Eclipse Idioms activity. Students will use critical thinking and will practice Common Core writing and language skills in all of the activities.

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to share the total eclipse with your students. (Viewing is not necessarily mandatory for the activities.)
