What educators are saying

This was a great resource in the classroom to encourage discussion and get the students thinking. Thank you!
Great purchase! I used these to start discussions with my seniors. Sara's material is always high quality.

Description

Though most students LOVE to talk, sometimes students need guidance to learn how to appropriately contribute to a larger conversation.

Enter these 48 task cards of sentence starters! Based on the expectations of Common Core standards in SL.1 for grades 7-12, these prompts are divided into four tiers (basic, intermediate, "including others", and advanced) to help scaffold students into talking collaboratively, referring to sources, and trying to come to a consensus.

These cards will be especially useful for students who are shy, unfocused, or unfamiliar with the nature of a formal whole-class discussion.

(Psst: The best part is, they're purposely small enough to fit in the palm of your hand... great if a shy student wants to discreetly use them!)

This 7-page PDF inludes:

• A teacher instructions page with tips for use

• 4 pages of premade cards, ready to print and cut out

• A blank template so you can add your own!

NOTE: This download is NOW EDITABLE! Previous versions were not. Please keep this in mind when reading buyer feedback.
