What educators are saying

Excellent addition as a reflective journal for students working through restorative processes during a discipline issue.
I highly recommend this curriculum resource to fellow educators. It has been a game-changer in my classroom, and I can see its positive impact on my students' learning. Thank you to the creator for developing such a valuable resource!

Description

The purpose of this unit/series of journal entries is for students to begin work on socially transforming school and neighborhood communities! I believe that the work needed to become an anti-racist society starts with work on one's self, which is why lesson 1 of this unit touches on identity. Lesson 1 is free in my store! This resource also includes pre-work for teachers. The pre-work can be found in the teachers note section once you've downloaded the unit. There is a google slides version for hybrid/blending learning. Great for Google Classroom, Schoology, etc. There are also PDF versions that can be printed and used for an interactive notebook/journal set up for face-to-face learning.

Each lesson plan includes common core standards for 7th and 8th grade AND social justice standards from LEARNING FOR JUSTICE. Although the lesson plans include standards for 7/8, this can easily be adapted to meet the needs of grades 6-12.

The texts in this resource are real life experiences from real people.
