Description

This timeline consists of a title, an "I can..." page, the years beginning in 1400 to 2020, the cards describing an event which relates to a celebration or a person who has made a contribution to the United States. Each card has an illustration and a brief description of the event or person, and it includes the year in bold. The font used in these cards is Century Gothic, size number 16. The size of the letter is not too big; but, it is big enough for the children to read. The font in the timeline years is Times New Roman, size 100. Laminate and cut the years. Put them in sequential order by year. The years are incrementing by 20 years; for example, 1400, 1420, 1440, etc. There are 18 cards which include Christopher Columbus, The year in which the Pilgrims arrived in America, the first Thanksgiving according to history, Benjamin Franklin and his experiment with lightning, the Declaration of Independence, Benjamin Franklin and his bifocal glasses invention, the first president - George Washington, George Washington Carver and his peanut products, when Texas became part of the United States, Harriet Tubman, Alexander Graham Bell and his invention of the telephone, Thomas Edison and his light bulb invention, when the Bluebonnet became the State's flower, the Wrights brothers, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr. Nobel Prize, Neal Armstrong landing on the moon, and President Barack Obama.
