Description

Do you need ideas for elementary Thanksgiving activities? Have you heard of Problem Based Learning? This product uses activities for elementary grades that are ready for a higher-level Thanksgiving activity.

This is a thanksgiving project incorporating social studies standards while using Problem Based Learning. Many of our social studies standards are similar when it comes to Thanksgiving. Even if you are not from AZ, it will be easy to find the standards that this meets. It includes everything you need to implement a PBL project, including:

-information on Problem Based Learning and Higher Level Thinking, including graphics

-an Essential Elements checklist to be used in planning stages

-graphics for understanding and planning purposes

-notes home to Mom and Dad

-standards that will be met

-driving question/problems

-authentic applications

-instructions on how to plan a lesson

-a rubric

-examples of formative assessments with printables for ease of use

-examples of summative assessments

AZ State History and Social Science standards met:

2C4.1

2H1.2

4H2.1

If you are new to PBL, and need help and a time saver, or if you just need a Thanksgiving activity for elementary grades that goes above and beyond a craft, this project will have students using what they have learned.

Check out the Thanksgiving bundle that includes this product and a ppt of how Plymouth has changed through the years. It's only $1.50 more!
