What educators are saying

I used this for a student who has difficulty understanding social cues. We read it and practiced greetings with another. I think the visuals helped him understand why and how to use greetings with others :)

Description

Social stories are an effective way to teach communication and pragmatic skills to children with learning disabilities and Autism. Social stories provide the student with a visual, as well the repetition of reading the book to facilitate the learning of these skills.

This social story focuses on greetings such as "Hi" and "Bye."
This is a 6 page story about when and how to say hi and bye to people that they know and people that they see during the day. The story is written in first person.

Students should have their social story handy at all times during the day to reference.

I have included 6 pages with text and clipart photos. I have also included 6 pages with the same text and no photos. This gives you the opportunity to customize the book and use your own real life pictures as a model.

Enjoy!
