Social Emotional Learning is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. This type of learning is geared towards educating the whole child.

In this bundle, there are 9 SEL Writing Journals and each journal is centered around an SEL topic. The topics for the journals are:

• Responsibility

Each journal has 20 prompts designed to get students thinking and reflecting upon the SEL topic. There are different types of prompts including:

• Open-ended
• Sharing an opinion
• Responding to an example situation
• Filling in an acrostic poem
• Writing a letter
• Creative writing - making up their own story

This bundle would make a great addition to any SEL curriculum. Classroom educators/special education educators can utilize the bundle for whole class discussions and lessons on SEL topics, or with individual students as needed. These journals may also be useful to school counselors and/or school leadership staff!
