    Description

An 8 week Junior Secondary Drama unit that explores acting skills and audition scenes.

Students learn about the expressive skills and practice using them effectively in performance, they learn about scripted duologue and monologue scenes and complete an assessment that has them create a portfolio of expressive photos and a short audition scene.

With a set of pretty and relevant posters to feature on your classroom wall, this bundle includes lesson plans, resources, an assessment task and rubric all embedded in a unit plan based on the Australian Victorian Curriculum.

This unit ALSO includes a WEB QUEST that can be used effectively for remote learning.

This unit also includes a Spongebob Musical Response printable worksheets that you can assign 'in case of teacher emergency'.

Each lesson includes a roll call activity and physical warm up for a routine beginning to the class, some theory and practical activities based on learning the expressive skills and selected scripted scene work.

The unit includes a performance peer driven pre test activity at the start of the unit followed by some opportunities for guided self reflection using a student friendly performance rubric along the way to encourage student progression and success.

Personal Note: I use this with my year 8 class and we always have a LOT of fun with it, I particularly enjoy watching my students get a handle on effectively reading and expressing emotions and ideas through verbal and non verbal means as I know this will help them in many aspects of social and professional life.
