Description

A helpful slope poster that displays the 4 different types of slope (positive, negative, zero and undefined), printable in either color or black and white.

This download includes a color version of the poster, a black and white version of the poster and both color and black and white smaller student handouts (4 per page) for student notebooks. Also linked inside is a blog post teaching how to enlarge any PDF to a multi-page poster on any home printer. This is a nice option if you have a larger classroom and need students to be able to see the poster from anywhere in your classroom.

Compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions). For example, given a linear function represented by a table of values and a linear function represented by an algebraic expression, determine which function has the greater rate of change.
Construct a function to model a linear relationship between two quantities. Determine the rate of change and initial value of the function from a description of a relationship or from two (𝘹, 𝘺) values, including reading these from a table or from a graph. Interpret the rate of change and initial value of a linear function in terms of the situation it models, and in terms of its graph or a table of values.
Calculate and interpret the average rate of change of a function (presented symbolically or as a table) over a specified interval. Estimate the rate of change from a graph.
