    Description

In this standards-based, engaging digital escape room activity bundle, students will practice finding the slope of a line, writing and graphing the equation of a line by matching, slope intercept form, point slope form, a little standard form and other forms such as ax + by + c = 0.

1st activity: Students will practice writing the equation of a line using slope intercept form y = mx + b when given a graph and the reverse, too. They encounter horizontal and vertical lines. They also practice identifying the y-intercept given an equation. The last lock can be a bonus lock in which students find the equation of a line that passes through 2 given points.

2nd activity: students will practice finding the equation of a line and graphing linear equations by matching; emphasis is on point slope form and a little bit of standard form or ax+by+c = 0. They practice writing the equation of a line using point-slope form when given a graph and the reverse, too. They find the slope and y-intercept of a line given the equation (not in slope intercept form). The last lock can be a bonus lock in which students find the equation of a line that passes through 2 given points, and also write the equation of a line given a point and slope.

These 2 activities are in my bundle with a 3rd activity on just slope: Here

Students unlock 5 locks, each of which contain 4 problems, and in the 2nd activity, 4 locks. Excellent for 8th grade or high school review. A GIF appears on each lock only after students successfully decode each lock.

    -- Teacher Dashboard & Data:

Not only will students receive basic feedback for correctness on their end; you will instantly be able to view student data in a snapshot on the free teacher dashboard (all digital) to determine gaps and misconceptions. This will help you support student learning via small groups, 1 on 1 support, or whole group. A check mark symbol (on the teacher dashboard) indicates correct answer, whereas "x" indicates incorrect. The dashboard shows the entire class - all students - while also showing their correctness at the same time. Progress monitoring data are essential in order to drive decisions around whether students are meeting the standards and learning goals, all while students are engaging in some fun!

Directions are provided on a slide and also on a short video in the activity. Super easy to implement and straightforward using Desmos, a free and user-friendly platform. Help your students have fun while engaging in mathematics. Pull students in breakout rooms or small groups to support struggling learners!
