This slide deck is a perfect companion to the powerful story of Kwame Alexander’s book, “An American Story.” 

“An American Story” tells the story of how slavery started in America. It is a powerful book. I created this 22 page slide deck (not including the direction pages) of teaching material to support the book. My students are always hungry for more information when I read them a history picture book. The slide deck contains photographs and more historical information that correlates with each page of the book.
