Description
In this force and motion STEM challenge, students will use the engineering design process to create a fast or s l o w sled. If you are studying force and motion or how friction can affect force and motion, this challenge is the perfect low-prep hands-on activity!
*If you would like to make this into a holiday or Christmas challenge, you can call it Santa's sleigh! All other design criteria are the same. Students can even draw and color a "Santa" of their own to put on their sleigh.
You will need to make simple ramp or sledding hill, which can be done with a folding table (one set of legs down), a large box, or a corrugated plastic sheet (recommended, find at a hardware store). This is a great activity to do when studying winter games and sports
