Description

Children learn skip-counting skills as they listen to the song, view numbers in the context of a 120 chart and visualize larger patterns on the 120 chart. Download the Supporting Document for the matching 120 chart and a skip counting "flap-tivity" that shows the concept of skip-counting in another interactive way.

With your purchase, you will be able to listen to this song through TpT. In addition, the accompanying packet will include a link, where you can listen to and download the song from my private Vimeo site.

This song can challenge Kindergarten and first grade students--and goes beyond the standards:

CCSS.Math.Content.K.CC.A.1

Count to 100 by ones and by tens.

CCSS.Math.Content.1.NBT.B.2.c

The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones).

This song supports the following second grade standards:

CCSS.Math.Content.2.OA.C.3

Determine whether a group of objects (up to 20) has an odd or even number of members, e.g., by pairing objects or counting them by 2s; write an equation to express an even number as a sum of two equal addends.

CCSS.Math.Content.2.OA.C.4

Use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in rectangular arrays with up to 5 rows and up to 5 columns; write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends.

CCSS.Math.Content.2.NBT.A.2

Count within 1000; skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s.

Third graders who do not know how to count by 2's, 5's, and 10's can definitely benefit from this song as well!

CCSS.Math.Content.3.OA.C.7

Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
