Size of the Problem Scenarios

The ZONES of Regulation® created by Leah Kuypers and published by Social Thinking, Inc. is an awesome curriculum teaching kids about self-regulation. Social Thinking® provides opportunities to teach students about how to understand themselves and others in order to better navigate the social world.

One of the concepts taught is the Size of the Problem. Sometimes we have teeny tiny problems, other times we have huge emergency problems! We can experience different emotions with different size problems. One of the important things to teach our students is to match their reaction size with their size of the problem.

Here are scenario cards where students can identify what size problem they would have, what size reaction they may have, and whether or not they match.
