What educators are saying

I worked with one student using this resource. The visuals and minimal but useful text was very helpful. Thank you!
This saved me so much time looking for functional texts and making the questions. My kids really enjoyed using this.

Description

This pack to provides students with practice reading real world (functional) texts. The pages are purposely simple, with minimal borders and decoration to distract the reader’s eye. This pack contains ten real world texts. Five comprehension questions are included about each real world text. There are two of each of the formats. The following real world formats are provided:

• Reading a Recipe

• Reading a Schedule

• Reading a Flyer

• Reading an Invitation

• Reading an Advertisement

A second version of each article is also included. These are resized to fit in interactive notebooks and are slightly different. Students can cut the page in half. Students will glue the article on the left and questions on the right. In this version, students will also read a real world text and then answer the same questions. However, in this format students will also need to circle the answer in a specific colored crayon to prove their answer in the text.
