Description

This physical science unit includes everything you need to teach the six simple machines! This resource contains demonstration ideas, reading passages, (one for each simple machine), a fun trivia game (name that machine!), printable posters, an interactive mini book, and extension activities. The interactive book promotes critical thinking and is aligned with the reading passages and posters to streamline teaching. The simple machine posters can be displayed digitally or printed for a colorful classroom display.

Reading Passages:

This resource includes a single-page reading passage for each of the six simple machines. A general introduction reading passage about machines is also included. The examples included within the reading passages are aligned with the printable posters and mini book to streamline teaching. You can view these passages by clicking the green preview button.

Trivia Game:

This game works perfectly as a review activity, however it can also serve as a daily warm-up or an exit ticket. Students will "name the machine" based on a picture. There are also questions regarding how a machine helps people. Check out the preview file for an example. You must have PowerPoint to access the game.
