Description
Opinion writing is one of my favorite units! Giving our students the tools they need to voice their beliefs is one of the most productive skills they will apply in their real world. As you are probably already aware, a solid opinion is most powerful when it is supported and backed by reasons. This is the challenge that many students face when comforted with opinion writing tasks.
These digital writing prompts are the perfect introductory tool that guide students into the practice of stating their opinions with supporting reasons. However, be aware, these writing prompts are not your typical opinion questions. THEY ARE SILLY! Students will be asked to form an opinion about many thought boggling questions that has sparked some serious conversations. Is fire on fire? Is a bucket a cup? If animals could talk, which one would be the silliest? These questions will engage your students to think critically as they attempt to formulate the most compelling argument. Take it a step further and ask students to present their favorite argument to the class and turn it into a light hearted silly debate! The versatility with these writing prompts can spark some awesome whole-class conversations, too!
Once purchased, a copy will automatically download to your Google Drive where you can then assign to your Google Classroom.
