Description

This sight word playing cards set offers a dynamic learning experience, capturing your students' attention throughout the games. Students will have fun and quickly learn high frequency words. These cards represent single-letter and two-letter sight words. They feature a cheerful smiling star image on each card in four distinct colors: yellow, green, pink, and turquoise/teal. Remarkably versatile, each sight word appears four times, adorned with a different colored star. These cards introduce a novel approach to engage learners actively, ensuring that the learning process remains exciting and impactful. The optional black-and-white version allows you to program the star colors yourself!

Elevate Learning Through Play: There are 26 sight word cards. Select 13 of the 26 sight words to build your deck. Use the remaining 13 sight words to make a second deck of cards. Use them to enjoy your favorite traditional card games. Transform the game of 'Go Fish' into an exciting sight word recognition game. 'Snap!' sharpens visual attention and recognition. Play 'Memory Match', 'Old Maid', 'Crazy Eights' and 'Slap It!' with these cards. There are detailed instructions for all games included.

Flexible Learning: Use this sight word playing card set with small groups or as an independent learning center. With guidance, 'Go Fish' becomes a collaborative learning activity, enhancing social skills and reinforcing sight word recognition within the 26 words included. For independent learners, these cards become a stimulation literacy center.

Additional Information: The sight words serve as the ranks in the deck, and 13 of the 26 sight words are selected to build a deck of 52 cards. Unlike a regular deck of cards, the sight word ranks hold equal value without any successive hierarchy, ensuring that all games function accurately. To play 'Go Fish', students make "books" of four cards, such as a book with four of the word "am" within the book.

Get the Freebie: Grab by free 2D Shapes Playing Cards and test the game I call, 'Flat Tire' - a modern version of 'Old Maid'. You'll find it HERE.
