What educators are saying

I have taught all the grades out early year and my students felt so much in love with this resource. They practice the sight words, reading fluency, breaking it up into syllables and all. I created a game based on whomever master the all sight words become a king and queen and prince and princess.
My students love these sight word notebooks! I use this with my struggling readers who are still working on filling on those foundational reading gaps. I love it because my students are engaged but still practicing important reading skills. Thank you!

Description

This sight word notebook is PERFECT to individualize and mange the instruction of high frequency words and heart words.

How does the sight word notebook work?

  1. You teach students to orthographically map sight words.
  2. The sight word notebook gives students extra practice reading each word and reading the words in context to develop fluency.
  3. The sight word notebook helps you easily manage individualized sight word instruction.

With this notebook (or mini-books), all students have the opportunity to learn sight words at their own pace by reading 10 words and phrases at a time. As the list and phrases are mastered, students get to add a sticker to their card and move up a level! Each word list and phrase is given a number so that it is easy for the teacher to monitor progress. Students are also excited and motivated to move up a level!

All off the Pre-Primer to 3rd grade Dolch words are included and you have the option to glue pages into a notebook or create mini books for each level. I LOVE keeping student notebooks in their individualized book bins so that they can be read multiple times throughout the day.
