Build students' fluency skills with these Fry Sight Word Phrases slideshows practicing the first 600 Fry Sight Words. Students build their fluency skills with repeated readings of these common sight word phrases practicing their accuracy and prosody. Each slideshow is one list of the Fry Sight Word Phrases.

Slideshows are provided in both Powerpoint and Google Slides versions along with tips for use. You can download to a shared device or provide them to students via Google Classroom or your Learning Management System. The slideshows are not timed so that students can repeat the phrase until they are able to read it fluently.

In my classroom, I had students practice when they were waiting for me to call on their group (generally 3-5 minutes). Before I started my next group, I took two minutes to listen to each student read the set to determine if they were able to read it fluently. If they were, they moved to the next level. This really helped my intervention students boost their reading fluency, and helped them become more accurate, and smooth readers.

I've also included a recording sheet with room for 30 student names as well as certificates to reward students for their mastery of each list.
