Description
I created this activity to integrate more digital technology in my math rotations. These digital and self-checking Boom Cards are an engaging and fun way way for your students to practice skills you have taught in the classroom.
This "deck" (set) of Boom Cards includes 20 cards to help your kiddos independently go to during a math center! These cards focus counting mixed coins (dimes, nickels, pennies only) under 50 cents. Each card displays a piggy bank with large clear and easy to distinguish coins (heads and tails). Your students are given the cent amounts choices to click on. The two wrong answers are close to what your kiddos would count if they looked at a coin incorrectly (for example if there was 2 dimes and 1 nickel, wrong choice amounts could include: 30 cents or 15 cents, considering they could count a dime for a nickel and vice versa). If chosen correctly, they will hear a ding, and a green circle around the answer...then the deck swipes onto the next. If they are wrong, they will hear a "whoops", and have opportunity to select the correct choice!
What is so great about BOOM cards? They are engaging, use technology (iPads, laptops, desktops, SmartBoards), self-checking...and no more: printing cards in color, laminating them, cutting them out...and storing them!! The work is done for you! Same awesome and vibrant clipart and fonts used in making physical cards, now digitally created!!
