Show, Don't Tell Writing Flipchart

Students will learn to add vivid details to "boring" sentences through the use of this fun ActivInspire Flipchart. They will draw what they visualize after reading a "boring" sentence and notice that all of the their drawings are different. After reading a much more detailed description, they will draw what they visualize again and notice that, not only do their drawings resemble the image being described, but that all of their drawings appear to be very similar. They will then discuss how to add adjectives and figurative language to "spice up" their writing, and practice using the examples provided on the worksheet and flipchart.
