Short vowel songs

This is a great smart notebook activity for short vowels. The first few weeks of first grade are spent on short vowels. I collected these songs and then made them into fun, interactive smart board activities. Children enjoy the pictures as well as the fun rhythm in the songs. I also print them out so the children can add the songs to their poetry books.
When I introduce a vowel we sing the vowel song as part of our morning meeting each day. All the songs are to the tune of “Where is Thumpkin?” For a bonus, I also linked a fun song/video to each of the letters. Just click on the top letter and it will bring you to the link on YouTube. My first grade students really enjoy the videos. They never get tired of them and you will be singing them in your sleep☺
