Description

No teacher can ever have too many work tasks! This series of independent work tasks or work boxes is designed to provide simple tasks students can master quickly and easily. It provides a variety of simple shape matching tasks that younger students can use to practice matching for instruction and then for independent work systems.

Watch as your students gain independence as they practice matching shapes with these independent work tasks. These task boxes - shapes themed - are colorful and engaging to keep students focused. Each task focuses on matching common shapes.

Included in these task boxes for shapes:

  • 12 shape matching 2-piece puzzles. Students match the shape on one piece to an illustration on the other.
  • 1 or 2 Illustrated Shape Sort File Folder
  • 1 or 2 Photo Shape Sort File Folder
  • 42 Photo Shape Matching Task Cards or Clip Cards (36 with 3 options, 6 with 5 options)

These independent work tasks are great for preschool or kindergarten center work, independent work systems or structured work systems with autism or in special education, and for any time that students need to be engaged on their own. These matching shapes tasks were specifically designed to be used in independent work systems with clear beginning and endings and with clear directions of the task involved.

Try using these task boxes (shape themed) during instruction! Your students can practice skills for generalization and maintenance while you work with another student in a small group.

These shapes task boxes are also specifically geared toward use with independent work systems with these features:

❤️Each task has a clear beginning and end.

❤️Tasks are designed (with the help of Velcro) to stay together when the student finishes and put them in the finished basket.

❤️They are easily adapted to individual needs.

❤️They are visually clear and designed to be simple

❤️They were designed to be highly visually engaging and capitalize on the visual discrimination skills that are often a strength for students with autism.

Additionally, these shape matching task boxes can be used for early childhood center activities to teach shape matching and shape identification. They can also be used in para supervised stations for student practice.
