Shamrock Music Composition

Shamrock Music Composition is the perfect set of activities for all your students at multiple ages, grades, and levels to be able to create their very own music for St. Patrick's Day!

There are 2 simple rhythm composing activities intended for lower elementary using pictures with quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests. There are also rhythms cards intended for middle to upper elementary using 3 different time signatures (3/4, 4/4, and 6/8). Teachers can choose which set of cards and/or time signatures best fits your students.

In addition to rhythm, there are 2 activities where students can compose with solfège syllables, both with and without a music staff to accommodate different levels and different ways of composing. All solfege syllables Do, Re, Mi, So, La, and High Do are included with both of these activities for you to use in the best way for your students. Solfege syllables may use the key of F or the key of G for their solfege patterns on the staff and an answer key is given.

Similar to the solfege activities, there is also a staff composing activity to allow students to create their own musical pattern using notes on the staff. The letters for the F pentatonic scale and the letters for the G pentatonic scale are given, along with an answer key.

All of these cards and activities have worksheets included for students to record their answers/patterns and all of them can be used with the whole class, in small groups, or in centers! And there are several "teacher cheat sheets" included to assist those teachers, subs, or homeschool parents who may need a little extra musical assistance in teaching their students in these subjects.
