What educators are saying
I thought this was a great addition to my severe weather unit for those students that needed some additional enrichment when they finished the other assignments.
Description
This is a collection of five severe weather storm reading comprehensions: Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Thunderstorms, Winter Storms and Floods. The articles are written in friendly and engaging language. Each article is a little more than a page long and includes standards-aligned comprehension and analyses questions. Each article also includes a diagram of how the storm forms and of the storm in action. The article can be used for literacy groups, individual DEAR or homework reinforcement. I also like to use the articles in a self-directed gallery walk about the storms (especially because they include good diagrams and pictures).
The content standards-aligned to 7th-grade essential standards (Atmosphere and Weather unit).
