Description

This is a COMPLETE UNIT of 5 LESSONS and over 100 documents on Sequences & Series (which can be used in both Algebra 2 and Precalculus) with differentiated Do Nows + Student Writing Prompts and a rubric per lesson, which I use to start my class. Each lesson also comes with a Launch/Exploration, Mini Lesson, Guided Practice with examples + a Formative Assessment question which can be used as an assessment mid-lesson. In addition, each lesson comes with differentiated independent practice (3 tiers/levels of fluency and practice problems), a differentiated exit ticket, and homework per day. This unit is also composed of a Pre-Test, that is to be given before you start the unit, a quiz to be given mid-unit, and a Post-Test that is to be given at the end of the unit. All of the documents also have ANSWER KEYS with worked out solutions and explanations!

The topics I covered in this unit AND in this ORDER includes:

1. Defining Sequences

2. Analyzing Sequence & Series

3. Analyzing Geometric Sequences & Series

4. Sums of Infinite Geometric Series

5. Recursive Rules with Sequences

Why These Lessons are Worth the Investment:

I’m known around my building for having well-crafted and differentiated lessons that are accessible to all learners in the classroom. I use my lessons as student packets, removing only the exit tickets to be copied separately and given at the end of the lesson. I also make screenshots of the lessons and project them onto the SmartBoard so that my lesson is exactly identical to my students lesson packets. We go through the lesson together until it's time for independent practice, which students work solely or with peers. Students typically have anywhere between 5-7 practice problems to work on. It is rare that a student will finish all of them before the period ends. If it does happen, I will instruct them to complete the other group problems for fluency. There is always plenty of work to do! You will get great feedback from your supervisor/administrator about the packets and the students will LOVE them because they don't have to copy notes down all period. Instead they can annotate and add onto the notes in the mini lesson. I have 12th graders who are now in college and refer back to their packets all the time in their transition courses. It's a great resource for them even post high school. I also incentive my students to keep all of their packets and give extra credit at the end of the quarter to students who have the most!

Let me know how this product works out in your classroom. I am currently working on uploading all of my other units if you are interested in more of these differentiated products! I think many teachers wish they had the time and energy to create lessons that are differentiated but it can be very tedious and time intensive. I've made the commitment ever since it kept my ratings highly effective. I am here to share! Give it a go!
