Description

In this September 11th, 2001 terrorist attack guided notes and PowerPoint resource, students learn about the attacks on New York City, Washington DC, and Somerset County, Pennsylvania, you receive a 25-slide PowerPoint presentation and a guided notes timeline activity to learn the major events (broken down by hour) of this infamous moment in American history.

Images, text, and eight video clips are integrated seamlessly to teach students the tragedy of the 9/11 attacks. Students emerge understanding the role of Flight 11, Flight 175, Flight 77, and Flight 93, the words of people aboard the hijacked aircraft, the reaction and response of the American government and President George W. Bush, the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the collapse of both North Tower and South Tower, the crashed landing of Flight 93 in Somerset County, and the role of Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda (and his death from Navy Seal Team Six). Students also learn about how we remember those we died in the attacks today by examining several monuments such as Freedom Tower (One World Trade Center), the two memorial pools at the World Trade Center site, the Tower of Voices in Shanksville, PA, the Pentagon Memorial, and the Tribute in Light.
