The is a FUN and engaging resource that will make your classroom kiddos feel like they are becoming doctors...grammar doctors, that is! They will undergo training at "Grammar Hospital" with physicians that are experts in their field.
They will complete a three step process that looks like this:
Step 1: Teach it! At the Grammar Hospital, students will learn about "healthy (complete) sentences." They will also learn about fragments and run-ons. Students will get opportunities to look at patients and diagnose their grammatical needs and help them on their way to recovery with some simple sentence solutions.
Step 2: The Grammar Hospital Handbook - Students will complete a series of recall and practice activities to ensure that they have maximized their sentence potential. This notebook has fun, interactive activities for students both practice, identify, and learn all about sentences, fragments, and run-ons.
Students will even get a chance to practice what they have learned from the Grammar Hospital medical staff with a visit to the Emergency Room! Here, they will visit nine rooms. Each room will have a grammar patient waiting for them. Students will identify their needs and provide their necessary treatments.
Answer keys are provided.
Pre and Post Exams are also provided through Google Forms. These are self-graded assessments, making your job super easy! Students will take a 10 question pre-assessment and a 20 question post-assessment. The Grammar Hospital graphics have been carried over onto this form to keep their newly-learned knowledge at the forefront of their medical minds!
All of this will come to you in the form a single PDF. You will have six forced copy links that will automatically save this material to your Google Drive. I have also provided further information for you on how to get these resources into your Google Classroom and into the hands of your students. Easy peasy!
