Description

This is a lesson on self confidence and self esteem. In this lesson you will have three discussion topics, a goal setting worksheet, and an art lesson where you will create a 9" x 12" mountain collage art project. This lesson is perfect for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th grade students. I have also included a coloring page for fast finishers.

What teachers are saying:

- My students loved creating the move mountains art work at the beginning of the school year. We displayed their creations in the hallway and they were so proud!

-Great activity and meaning behind it!

-Beautiful art project with a great message. Can't wait to use this with my mountain themed classroom!

Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., 𝘹-axis and 𝘹-coordinate, 𝘺-axis and 𝘺-coordinate).
Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation.
Describe how a narrator’s or speaker’s point of view influences how events are described.
Analyze how visual and multimedia elements contribute to the meaning, tone, or beauty of a text (e.g., graphic novel, multimedia presentation of fiction, folktale, myth, poem).
Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information.
