Description
Self advocacy is an important skill for all learners, but especially for those who are neurodiverse. Individuals who are neurodiverse are at greater risk for burnout, depression, and anxiety as a result of masking or trying to "hide" their authentic self. Learning how to self advocate can help students manage their differences to lead a more comfortable and connected life and hopefully, reduce the need for masking.
The activities in this resource were strategically created to help neurodiverse learners learn three main skills.
- What is self-advocacy
- How to self-advocate (step-by-step guide)
