Description
Are you looking for a summer themed guessing game to target receptive and expressive language skills? This game can be used to practice summer vocabulary, listening, and descriptive language skills. This activity works well with mixed groups because articulation students could work on carryover skills. Social skills groups could work on asking and answering questions. With this activity, students will practice speech and language skills as they listen to the clues, solve the riddles, find the pictures in the I Spy scene. Students will also practice coming up with their own clues by describing the items for other group members.
This resource includes two options for play:
1. Printable game (1 printable mat and 24 cards): Print the Seek and Find Summer Vocabulary Game Activity Mat. I would recommend laminating it or using a plastic sleeve. Print the cards and cut them apart. Have one person be the reader who reads the clues to the group. Group members try to guess the summer item being described. Make sure to hide the picture on the card! Use a magnifying glass for extra fun! You can also have students color the pictures as you play with the black & white version. Features COLOR and Black & White printing options!
2. Boom Cards Activity (20 Boom Cards): There is nothing to print because these digital games are completed online. See below for more information about Boom cards!
