Materials:
You will need an old water bottle for each pair of students. I recommend you provide gravel or small rocks, some sand or soil, and small dead leaves. You may want to have additional types of sediment and mulch available but it is not necessary. You can also go outside and ask your students to fill their bottles with a variety of sediments.
