Description

These 'Secret Agents Behavior Badges' are easy to use and implement with your usual behavior management routine. This is a strategy to keep in your bag of tricks if you feel like you need to try something else with your approach to behavior management, or this particular works well when subbing. It works well because of the mystery factor added in, plus it gives students the opportunity to be the ones responsible for observing ideal classroom behavior.

Preparation
Choose which set of badge cards you would like to use and print:
- Page 4 lists a few behavior goals on the one card
- Pages 5 and 6, target singular behavior goals on each card.
- Page 7 is blank for you to write your own behavior goals.
- Page 8 provides a broad statement on the card.

Implementation
Explain to your students that you will be choosing secret agents to look for other students demonstrating positive behaviors throughout the day/week. Each Secret Agent is required to choose a peer or two at the end of the day/week to receive some reward - What the reward will be is up to you. Some examples include: prize/points/tokens/raffle tickets.

Secret Agents must keep their identity a mystery to the rest of the class, and may only reveal themselves when instructed by the teacher.

When your Secret Agents declare which students they choose, they must give reasons for their choice too. For example, ‘I am choosing Sophie because she was always on task when doing work in the classroom today.’ To help Secret Agents with this process, you may choose to give them the badges with the prewritten targeted behavior goals (pg 4, 5, 6).

After your Secret Agents choose the ‘Star Students’, they must hand in their badges back to you. Reissue the badges to new students to be the Secret Agents the next day/week.
