Description

"Dr. Phil Interviews the Second Great Awakening Preachers and the Reformers." This purpose of this play is to help students understand the connection between the Second Great Awakening and the Reforms of the early 1800s and to help students identify each reformer and his or her cause. To keep students engaged, some students will read while others will jot notes onto a chart. After the play is over, students who wrote will share their notes and a discussion will help students fill in their charts completely. Then, an exit slip will check for understanding of the big concepts and reforms. An additional extension activity is to ask students to write their own interviews using their charts. Thanks for your interest.
