⭐️About These Resources⭐️

• These word and sound mapping mats are the perfect addition to any primary classroom where early readers are working on building phonological awareness and phonics skills.
• There are a variety of 2, 3, and 4 sound mapping mats included so you can use the ones that are right for your students!
• Please note: Winter, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Spring, Easter, Zoo, and Farm mats all include 5 sound boxes as well. I am working to update the past themes to have 5 sound boxes for you to use next year. :)
• Word mapping mats include wording for "Map the Sounds" or "Spell the Sounds" in case you use language for one of the other in your classroom.
• Word mapping mats also include a space to write the word at the bottom of the page.
• Provide children with picture cards, magnetic wands and chips, slip the mats in a dry erase pocket or laminate them, and hand out dry erase markers to watch the magic happen in your classroom! They will LOVE practicing their daily phonological awareness and phonics skills with these mats. :) It will feel like a game to them.
• Word mapping promotes orthographic mapping and is a science of reading aligned strategy. Orthographic mapping is the process our brains go through to permanently store words so we can read them instantly upon sight. Word mapping is a research-based strategy that supports reading development.
