Description

The perfect scientific method lab report template for children of all ages and levels! Great resource to encourage critical thinking and evidence based writing at ALL levels within the scientific method framework. This product provides scaffolded support for English language learners or students with special needs.

This product is separated for children at three different educational levels. The first set is ink and printer friendly and can easily print double sided to function as a full lab report on a single sheet of paper. This first set is best for middle school grades sixth through eight since the questions are open ended and aimed at higher level critical thinking skills and evidence based writing and evaluation on blooms taxonomy.

The second set is also open ended but with simple lines for guidance included underneath each component. This template can be adapted to ANY scientific experiment for grade levels third through fifth. Some guiding questions are included in each component to facilitate the writing and synthesizing process at these levels.

The final set is for early elementary grades from advanced kindergartener through second grade. The full handwriting lines are best for guidance in letter formation and spacing and the questions are adapted with simple vocabulary. These are best used for advanced kindergarteners through second grade or third graders who are English Language Learners or in need of special education services or accommodations. Writing evidence based claims and using inductive and deductive reasoning are encouraged here as well.

Each component of the lab report is aligned with the scientific method and common core standards for understanding the scientific method and evidence based writing processes. If you have any questions, please contact me and I will be more than happy to help show you how to use these in your classroom or homeschool!
