Description

It is critical to relate science concepts to current events and relevant topics to teen life. This PRINTABLE, READY TO GO reading comprehension article and response includes an article on e-cigarettes and the pros and cons, as well as clear biological facts about how they affect the brain and how they work. The article is provided at two reading levels (10th grade without vocabulary terms highlighted and 8th grade with vocabulary terms highlighted), with a summary assessment. Students read background information about e-cigarettes, as well as the rise in e-cig use in teens and determine if they are a safer alternative to tobacco. They then complete a graphic organizer outlining their decision, and providing evidence.
