Description
Discover solutions, density, and buoyancy with an engaging project based learning unit. We have taken the classic egg float lab up a notch. Bundle and Save with both differentiated explorations. A wonderful experiment for Easter and springtime. Integrating soda improves critical thinking skills and makes learning fun. We will guide you step by step.
This investigation bundle includes both differentiated versions. Each version is differentiated for abilities and the Next Generation Science Standards. 2nd/3rd grade includes 3 tests with 1 trial. It provides more guidance in following the scientific method. 4th/5th grade increases the expectations. The 4th/5th-grade version is also appropriate for middle school. Students complete 4 tests and 3 trials. They also expand to calculating the mean for their graph. Both grades include a further exploration and STEM challenge. We hope your students have a wonderful experience increasing their knowledge of sinking and floating.
By purchasing this bundle, you are SAVING 20% off each individual resource.
By the end of the activity, students can answer and explain the question:
Does the amount of sugar in soda pop affect the height an egg floats?
The activities meet the following Next Generation Science Standards:
- K-2 Grade Science and Engineering Practices
- 2nd Grade Structures and Properties of Matter: 2-PS1-1 and 2PS1-2
- 3rd-5th Grade Science and Engineering Practices
- 5th Grade Structures and Properties of Matter: 5-PS1-3
Teachers will like the ease of use, background information, and easy-to-find materials. Teachers enjoy observing their students take the lead in their learning. It is memorable for both the teacher and students. You can expand the lesson further with the included reading material and vocabulary pages. We did the lesson planning, now you can set up and enjoy with your students.
