Description

A fun Thanksgiving themed STEM challenge with a focus on gratitude! Check out this fun design challenge. Learners listen to the classic read aloud Scarecrow by Cynthia Rylant. Learners see how the scarecrow provides for everyone...let's do something nice for the Scarecrow to show our gratitude! Learners will make a nest for the crows to hang on Scarecrow so that they do not have to sit on his arms. Materials for this challenge are flexible; I used natural materials such as leaves, sticks, string (you can even take students out to collect these items!). The Google Slideshow will walk you and your learners through the activity, including the read aloud. Be sure to pick up the free STEM Notebook paper from my shop to use with this challenge! I simply printed a crow image from the web to put in the nest and brought in a Scarecrow from home for learners to 'test' their nests on!
