Help develop your students' academic vocabulary with these interactive notebook pages!

They include all of the vocab words introduced in Lessons 21-25 of the Saxon Math 4th Grade Curriculum, but the words are highly relevant for any third or fourth grade math curriculum.

There are words included for introductory lessons on shapes, fractions, decimals, lines, and angles.

Please note that there are no vocabulary words introduced in Lessons 24 or 25.

Recognize area as an attribute of plane figures and understand concepts of area measurement.
Recognize angles as geometric shapes that are formed wherever two rays share a common endpoint, and understand concepts of angle measurement:
Understand a fraction 1/𝘣 as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into 𝘣 equal parts; understand a fraction 𝘢/𝑏 as the quantity formed by 𝘢 parts of size 1/𝘣.
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Understand that attributes belonging to a category of two-dimensional figures also belong to all subcategories of that category. For example, all rectangles have four right angles and squares are rectangles, so all squares have four right angles.
