Description

Sarah Morton is a nine year old Pilgrim girl and her daily life is very different from a child today! The photos and text help students understand how a Pilgrim child lived. This unit contains teaching suggestions, 5 pages for students to use as they read to record details of Sarah Morton's day and their own lives, a writing page to summarize what they have learned that encourages them to choose which life they would prefer, a worksheet of 11 vocabulary words from the text to match with the definitions, and a page of 5 quotes from the book for the children to "translate" into today's English.

Great for Thanksgiving... for analyzing non-fiction text anytime... for discussing families or responsibilities... or just to learn about our past!
