Sample or Teaching Model of a Personal Narrative or Personal Memoir

When teaching personal narrative or personal memoir, teachers often wish they had a sample narrative to use as a model. Many stories are too complex or do not fit the plot structure that we expect them to use. Here I created a personal narrative, true to my life, that models and helps students identify many writing techniques we expect students to use, like using transitional phrases, sensory details, dialogue, strong verbs, specific nouns, specific verbs, descriptive writing, and clear elements of plot. My goal, at Writing Whiz, will be to provide many such models for teachers to use to demonstrate writing techniques they expect their students to masters or begin to recognize and master.
