Sample Essay for Thomas Mann Anti-War Prompt

I had one particular sophomore Honors English class I taught do a timed write in response to one of two anti-war prompts I gave them. They were to write about the degree to which they agreed with the prompt. I was surprised that they almost unanimously agree with the anti-war prompts, so I wrote a "rebuttal" of sorts: my personal response to one of the prompts. Then I had them look for and point out devices/elements of my essay (allusion, parallel structure, rhetorical question, transitions, hook, thesis, etc.). I'm offering my essay up free, for at the least, my essay gives a window into how I think and write, and the two page "breakdown" of the essay (it's a group activity) for $2.
