I created this resource to teach my Kindergarten students about Veterans Day. These materials have a strict social studies focus.
These materials have been expanded to cover up to second grade.
Materials Included:
Articles that cover the basic information about Veterans Day and each branch of the military. These use real photographs!
Comprehension question and answer sheets based on those articles (this could be an oral discussion in Kindergarten).
Two levels of a student reader in black and white. It reviews the basics of Veterans Day.
A letter writing template to write a thank you letter to Veterans.
An opinion writing template about which branch of the military a student would like to be in.
A bubble map for students to fill in about Veterans.
