Description

Documentary worksheets with answer keys for ALL questions. This is a documentary (currently ONLY found on Netflix), however it is also based on a book also called Salt Fat Acid Heat.

This is a GREAT documentary for any Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Geography, Foreign Languages or related course. It covers the use of ingredients and cooking methods used, cultural difference and cultural cooking traditions, how geography influences cooking, various foreign languages, etc.

*This product includes the worksheet to accompany the show only, not any videos. The show is available to watch on Netflix currently.. Please ensure you can view and present this in your classroom before purchase.

There is a worksheet and answer key for each episode with a minimum of 9 questions that go in order of the episode. The worksheets included multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank and short answer questions.

Documentary information from Netflix website:

"Episode 1: Fat- (48 minutes) In northern Italy, Samin savors the magical properties of olive oil, pork fat and cheese as she visits farms and helps prepare local specialties. (*This episode features the butchering of pigs approximately 21 minutes into the episode and lasts 4 minutes.)

Episode 2: Salt- (40 minutes) From sea salt to soy sauce to miso: A trip to Japan reveals the many forms salt can take -- and the profound effects it can have on food.

Episode 3: Acid- (40 minutes) To illustrate the transformative power of acids, Samin visits Yucatan, where sour oranges, salsa and Mayan honey add new dimensions to every dish.

Episode 4: Heat- (41 minutes) Back home in California, Samin uses heat to unlock rich colors and flavors as she roasts meat and veggies, then makes crispy rice with her mom."
