What educators are saying

These projects turned out so terrific we had to hang them in the hall. We did it as part of our All Saints/All Souls preparation and they really loved filling in all the spaces with their creativity. I can't wait to use it again next year.

Description

These Saint Michael the Archangel "doodle note" pages offer a creative, fun, interactive way to take visual notes on St. Michael, Archangel & Catholic Saint.

You can use these when learning about angels, about heaven and hell, or any time you are studying the lives of the saints.

Each “Catholic Saints Doodle Notes” set comes with:

-A basic info doodle note page, where students learn a bit about the saint

-Either a comic page or quote page for the saint

-Teacher key/guide

-Colored samples

This set includes facts about Saint Michael defeating the devil and covers the four offices of St. Michael. Students consider his qualities as our protector and champion that they'd like to strive toward, and they write and pray the prayer of Saint Michael. They reflect on the story and also on their own traits of strength and bravery while they learn about the battle of good vs. evil.

Recommended use:

-Have students do a little research on the saint if you have time.

-Show the colored samples to inspire creativity, and encourage students to make their pages their own. There are endless possibilities, and the pages are intentionally designed to allow for open-ended creativity.

-For the basic info page, you can do a teacher model with a projector and let students see you fill in the basic info while they gather the facts for their page. (They will add extra creative embellishment while you talk through the facts about the saint).

For the comic page, make sure students know the basics of the story of the saint’s life. They can research it themselves, or you can give them a quick 2-minute version of the saint’s story out loud. Then allow them plenty of time to build their own visual story in the comic frames.

Remind them that stick figures are perfectly fine! There is no need for fancy drawing skills. Icons that represent an idea are just as good as a sketched scene.

Each student can choose to create a visual representation in whatever way they are most comfortable. Allow for plenty of creativity!
